Wanderlust Look: the Scottish Highlands

Wanderlust Look: Scottish Highlands

When we aren’t traveling, we are filled with dreamy wanderlust after different and new fun places to travel.

We love the typical tropical travel locations, especially during this cold weather; but our eyes are on faraway lands that aren’t exactly conventional choices, which make them even more desirable.

“Scotland is about layering. The weather changes every ten minutes.” – Sam Heughan

Lush Greenery and vast terrain creates stunning, borderline overwhelming scene that is aesthetically pleasing to the eye. Beaches are lovely, but something as cinematic and large like the Scottish Highlands offers a sense of introspection and personal growth.

Walking along the chilly and never-ending moors of the highlands, you might want to wear something warm with natural earth tones.

Wanderlust Look: Scottish Highlands

The look consists of a neutral turtleneck sweater by Zachary Prell and striking Tommy Bahama white khakis. This styling creates a European sophistication that appears intelligent and humble. Paired with an Olive Jacket by Tommy Bahama, you will match the neutral and thought-provoking environment that surrounds you.

If this inspires you to cross the pond, then our work here is almost done. Here is a list by U.S. News of Castles and Glens that you should visit. Get lost in lush greenery and take every chance to take a wanderlust selfie.

Channel your inner European and get on a plane immediately. This weather is too bluesy to not make an escape.

Santorini Style: Channel Your Inner Grecian

Summer and Wanderlust seem to go hand in hand. It’s not only typical to get lost in daily daydreams of a Grecian Getaway during this time of year, it’s expected.  This idealistic vacation spot has inspired this season’s color palette which makes us feel one with the Gods and Goddesses of Mount Olympus.

Dark Romantic Blues and Bright Whites are the colors that come to mind when we wish to chase after the Aegean Sea and Santorini. Using this color combination sends the Grecian Message. You will be channeling your inner Athena or Aphrodite in no time, or at least channel your inner Santorini Local.

Greece Lightning! Go Greece Lightning!

We played with print and texture concepts such as Greek Crochet Trim and geometric prints that reminded us of the mosaic tile art made by the Greeks. However we fell Hydra Head Over Achilles Heels with a dramatic Mosaic-Like Print. Grecian Art is simple and whimsically magical all at once.

Hot and Sweaty Summertime limits our options with fabric and silhouette options, we truly believe comfort is key. A romper or mini dress with an off-the-shoulder sleeve are both highly desirable pieces. You want something that not only gives so you won’t be too hot, but also something that boldly stands out so you won’t need to heavily accessorize.

Santorini Style: Channel Your Inner Grecian

There are about a million steps in Santorini, so wear practical footwear, like a sandal or a sneaker. However, if you want to take the literal route and wear a gladiator sandal, we will not stop you. Just no heels, you wouldn’t make it a minute in Greece in six inch pumps.

Let this look inspire you to channel your inner goddess. Better yet, we hope you throw caution to the wind and buy a one way ticket to your dream destination.

Wish We Were Here: Wonderful Winter Getaway Ideas

Wish We Were Here

Since the holidays have ended, the winter weather has become less festive and more irritating. We are exhausted from participating in holiday activities and we need a break. We are starting to get the travel bug and are eagerly searching for flights to exotic lands. This is the perfect time to escape to a new and amazing spot. Treat yourself to a vacation, we most certainly will.

Wish We Were Here : Mykonos

Grab Flights, Reach New Heights

Locations like the Turks and Caicos Islands are warm with sunny beaches and beautiful blue water. It’s not terribly far from the United States and round trip tickets this time of year can be found at a cheap price. Put on your sandals and pack your swimsuit for an amazing trip to escape reality. Other tropical spots near this spot are the Bahamas, Haiti, and the Dominican Republic. Check out those spots too if you wish, they’re just as fun.

If you wish to go a bit further, Mykonos is another great option. Mykonos and other surrounding islands off the coast offer sprawling beaches with a lot of European culture to take in. With some rest and relaxation during the day, the night is for some partying. Dance the night away with your close friends. But before you hit the clubs, try the lovely cuisine and culture yourself at the many museums.

Wish We Were Here : Staycation

Staycation Getaway

If you don’t mind the cold weather, we have some ideas to keep in mind. Sometimes the best adventures to be had are the ones right in your backyard. Staying home can be just as good (if not better) than flying south for the winter.

First things first, go to the spa with your friends. The best advice we can give to to get a massage; especially to relieve your post-holiday stress. This is the time to take care of your body and get rid of those knots in your back. After a few hours of pampering, hit the town! Visit spots you’ve never been too. Check out the latest exhibition at the museum that you’ve had your eye on. Find culture right in your own backyard.

But our favorite staycation idea is staying at home. Light a candle, turn on Netflix, and crank up the heat. The best getaway from the outside world is never leaving the house. Invite your closest friends over, listen to feel good music, drink wine, and play something fun like Scrabble, Monopoly, or Clue. Staycations are easiest way to have fun and relax, they don’t cost a thing and they are usually exactly what the doctor ordered.
